What Happens on the Day
The Kayaking and Canoeing experience lasts around 2–2½ hours, making it a great half-day option.
What To Expect
Your experience begins with a warm welcome from your qualified instructors, who will provide all necessary equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and paddles. Changing facilities are available, giving you the opportunity to get ready before heading to the water.
Before setting off, you’ll receive a full safety briefing and introduction to the basics of paddling, steering and river safety. Once everyone is comfortable, you’ll head onto the River Derwent to put your new skills into practice.
As you paddle through beautiful Derbyshire countryside, you’ll enjoy a mixture of gentle river sections, fun challenges and opportunities to work together on the water. Along the route, you’ll take in stunning scenery and unique views of the surrounding area before finishing your adventure and returning to the start point via organised transport.
