A Reward Focused Team Day for Nando's in the Peak District
When Nando’s got in touch to organise activities for their annual team meet, the brief was clear. This had to be all about rewarding their people.
With a group of around 60, they wanted something memorable, flexible, and enjoyable for everyone attending.
As with all our events at HDK Events, we started with a conversation. By taking the time to really understand what they wanted from the day, we were able to design a bespoke experience that gave their team both choice and variety something that’s especially important when working with larger groups.
Giving Teams Choice: Two Experiences, One Seamless Day
For this event, we created two distinct activity options:
- River Rafting Experience
- Indian Cooking Experience
As part of our bespoke service, we take the time to understand exactly what our clients want from their day, putting together a selection of tailored options to help shape the final experience.
Through our trusted network of activity partners across the Peak District, we’re able to offer a wide variety of experiences, from fully outdoor, high-energy challenges to more relaxed, indoor activities. Whether your team wants something adventurous or something more social and creative, we’ve got it covered.
This approach allowed Nando’s team to choose what suited them best, ensuring everyone felt included and engaged. A simple but powerful way to elevate a reward-based event.
River Rafting: Energy, Teamwork & Friendly Competition
Around two-thirds of the group opted for the river rafting experience and it didn’t disappoint.
This activity is ideal for bringing people together. Teams had to communicate, coordinate and think collectively to get the best results on the water. With our experienced instructors leading the session, the group enjoyed:
- Fun races and challenges
- Light-hearted competition
- A real sense of shared achievement
While the focus was on reward and enjoyment, the team naturally experienced the benefits of collaboration and communication something that always carries back into the workplace.
Client Feedback
“It was our annual Nando’s people team trip and at very short notice we decided we wanted to run activities for 60 team members. From the first phone call the guys at HDK couldn’t do enough for us. They took the time to really understand our needs and built a package to accommodate this… I can’t thank the team enough.”

Indian Cooking Experience: Creativity, Culture & Connection
The remaining third of the team chose our Indian cooking experience a perfect fit for a company rooted in food and hospitality.
Led by a passionate professional chef, this experience brought the group together in a completely different way. It was:
- Hands-on and interactive
- Relaxed and sociable
- A great reflection of Nando’s own brand and values
As part of our fully managed service, we sourced a venue close to the rafting activity. This meant both groups could come back together afterwards and enjoy the freshly prepared food as a team.
A big bonus? The activity doubled as catering, helping to streamline both logistics and budget.
One Event, Fully Managed
Bringing together multiple activities, locations, catering and transport for a group of 60 could easily become overwhelming.
That’s exactly where we come in.
For this event, we acted as a single point of contact, handling all elements of the day, including:
- Activity planning and coordination
- Transport for all groups between locations
- Supplier management with trusted local partners
- Venue sourcing
- Scheduling to ensure everything ran smoothly
Working with a network of reliable Peak District suppliers, we’re able to bring everything together into one seamless experience. Showcasing the very best of the area, without the stress of organising it yourself.
So the Nando’s team could simply turn up, relax and enjoy the day.
More Than Just a Reward Day
While the main aim was to reward staff, the impact went further.
By offering choice, encouraging participation, and creating shared experiences, the day naturally supported:
- Team connection
- Company culture
- Employee wellbeing
It’s a great example of how a well-planned team day can deliver more value than expected, even when the goal is simply to say “thank you”.
