A Corporate Rewards Day in the Peak District: A Case Study with Sky (90 Guests)

Organising a large team event can quickly become complex. When Sky approached us to help create a memorable reward experience for their call retention team, they were looking for something that would bring people together, feel genuinely special and run seamlessly from start to finish.

With around 90 delegates attending, the brief was to create a multi-activity experience in the Peak District that combined team challenges, relaxation and evening entertainment all fully organised and coordinated.

The Brief: Organising a Two-Day Corporate Away Day

Sky wanted to reward their team with an experience that felt different from the usual corporate away day.

They were looking for:

• a large-scale team experience for around 90 people
• a private venue with exclusive use
• multiple activities that would keep everyone engaged
• accommodation and evening entertainment
• transport and logistics organised from start to finish

They also needed to incorporate a specialist training session in Derby as part of the visit, meaning the schedule had to be carefully coordinated across multiple locations.

Planning the Experience and Choosing the Venue

With around 90 delegates attending, careful planning was essential to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Using our knowledge of venues across the southern Peak District, we recommended a private country estate that offered the space and exclusivity required for a group of this size.

The countryside setting also played an important role in the experience. Many of the team worked in a busy call centre environment, so spending time outdoors in a rural setting provided a refreshing change of pace and an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues in a relaxed environment.

Our team coordinated every element of the event, including:

• coach transfers from the train station
• accommodation at a local four-star hotel
• a full schedule of activities
• catering throughout the day
• evening dining and entertainment
• event management on the day

The goal was simple to bring everything together so the team could focus on enjoying the experience.

The Activities

To keep the day engaging and varied, we organised a carousel of activities that allowed smaller groups to rotate throughout the day.

The experiences included:

Quad Biking
A fast-paced activity that challenged participants to navigate an off-road course requiring concentration, coordination and control.

Bubble Football
A brilliantly fun activity that quickly brought out everyone’s competitive side, with plenty of laughter as teams attempted to score while bouncing off each other in inflatable bubbles.

Cannon Shooting
One of the more unusual activities of the day, where teams had to calculate trajectories and work together to hit targets — encouraging strategic thinking and collaboration.

Falconry Experience
A fully interactive experience with an expert falconer, allowing participants to handle and fly birds of prey including falcons, hawks and owls.

The mix of activities meant there was something for everyone, and it was great to see colleagues from different departments mixing together and working as teams.

The Results

The day began with teas, coffees and locally sourced pastries before teams headed out to their activities across the estate.

Throughout the day our event team coordinated the schedule to ensure each group moved smoothly between activities. With 90 guests attending, careful organisation was key to making sure everyone had the chance to take part and enjoy the experience.

After the activities, the team enjoyed a luxury buffet lunch on the estate, followed by a celebratory prize giving where trophies and awards were presented.

To round off the experience, we arranged accommodation at a nearby four-star hotel, including access to spa facilities so the team could relax before an evening meal and entertainment.
